    Default Frozen diesel ?

    Hi Guys,
    Any help appreciated !!

i have a 2.0 Signum Diesel , Which i let run to 17 miles left in the tank! , With the bad weather i aborted a visit to fill up yesterday.

This morning with the roads quieter i started the car , it ran for about a minute then stalled . It now urns over but will not start ! , I Have added a Gallon of diesel but the same result !

The man from Greenflag thinks the diesel may be frozen ? ,

Is this because it ran so low ? , I have let it get lower than this in the past..
    Please all help taken seriously.
    Thanks.

frozen diesel the level has got low, at -9 it starts freezing / jelling.

you should be able to get it going by putting the key in, move to position 2, remove key, insert key move to position 2, remove key and try start.

If that doesnt work you will just have to wait for it to thaw and fill up, its always good to keep them over half a tank when snow is around

Do foreign countries get sort of a different mix of diesel or an additive to stop this happening, when their climate is far colder than ours?

Can't see how that is gonna work?

When were the leak off pipes done on the car? They could be letting air into the fuel system thus not getting the diesel into the pump.

Also by letting the fuel get that low you may have choked the fuel filter with crap from the bottom of the tank

I thought all diesel in this country had the additives to stop it thickening up in cold weather?

bassicly youve run out of diesel and need to bleed the fuel system the bad thing is your gonna have to crank the engine till it goes ...it will take a long time if the pipes and filter are all dry try putting even more fuel in then cranking it ...crank it for 10 secs then stoip then crank again for 10 secs keep doing this till it starts the older 2.0 can be a pain to start once the fuel tank has been run dry ....
