Default vectra sri 1.9 cdti 150 smoking badly

my sri 2004 1.9 cdti 150 is smoking heavily.

suspect intercooler but this car is pi**ing me off now, ive already had:

    swirl inlet manifold
    water pump
    egr valve
    cambelt kit

trouble is i got ripped off at auction my fault for just seeing SRI and not inspecting it but its a nice car usual faults seat worn etc..

i just want it fxed now... whilst driving the car it will kick in a fault code and then act like there is no power/turbo unless i cut the car out and start is again.

I would say there is a split hose (and as you pointed out intercooler which is common place for a split to occur). Fial in that it could be a faulty MAF.

ive had a mechanic look at it he reckons an intercooler problem!

i reckon split pipes but its going to cost at least £200 for the intercooler and then theres the cost for pipes etc. then if the turbo or turbo seals are gone then its a new turbo job... ive got a vectra b 1.8 sri waiting to be fixed aswell so i cant even jump into that car while trying to get this one fixed.... trouble is i love vectra's

If the inetercooler is causing the smoke then you can be sure it has split. But what colour is the smoke? I assumed black as you has mentioned intercooler.

ok, do you know any cheaper places rather than main dealer for parts ive used ebay for other parts but the intercooler is proveing hard to find! got a part number of 13205149 for the intercooler.

ive saw universal intercoolers on ebay dunno ifthey would work also where could i get silicone coloured hoses to replace split ones?

    thanks

My intercooler cost £470 for supply and fit iirc, that wasn't at a dealer though.

Plenty of dedicated vauxhall scrap yards in the uk look on google & they will post you one off the shelf.

No need to buy new and save some cash, Also buy the Haynes manual you may save a few quid fitting this yourself.
