Car wouldn't start this afternoon, had a clicking noise and that's all. I left it for a few minutes then it started, very lumpy. Went for a short drive, brought it home, turned the ignition off then tried to start it again. No joy this time, just the clicking noise and lamp warnings on the dash.

When I was turning a corner on the short drive the radio and the heater would cut out then when straightening the wheel they would both come back on.

I left it for an hour and went back out and it started. Took it for a longer drive this time and it seemed ok though the wipers struggled across the screen. Same issue with the heater and the radio. Got back and tried to restart it and again, wouldn't start, just the clicking.

Thinking it's the battery, any ideas?

Im sick of the ABS kicking in cant wait for a day or 3 of + temps to see if that fixes it.

The weather is having the effect of meaning my car has been a filthy beast for some three plus weeks now and no end or hot bath in sight!

If only I could sneak it down the hall into the shower room with me and give it a decent hot shower and shampoo

CDTI's been fine in all fairness, i just leave the ignition on for 5-10 seconds before firing and it starts perfect.
The XK on its 275/18 tyres & automatic 'box isn't a good idea, so had to park it up for a while :/

    1) The clutch pedal was sticking. depressed it, took foot away and it stayed down for a couple of seconds before returning quite slowly. (cured itself within 2 mins of idling on the drive).

    2) for the first couple of mins after firing up, the engine sounded really lumpy as though it was struggling.

    3) The front shocks are really noisy going over speed bumps. A sort of slushy sound (possibly the fluid inside beginning to freeze up?).

What adverse effects is this cold weather having on your Veccy?

Just been looking at another site. The fluid in your shocks should not freeze until at least minus 50. I think it must be something else!!!
