So far I have observed the following:-
- My tyres are far too wide for snow
- V6 Petrol on choke is insanely thirsty
- Half leather is sooo much better than full leather in winter, weather they are electrically heated or not.

cant say Ive any issues, drives great in these conditions and not been stuck and we've had over a foot of snow here. doesnt wheelspin and grips to turn very well,. might be that the diesel engine being heavier is helping. Just the usual washer jets I guess, but until they duct hot air from the engine over the nozzles then they'll just freeze up!
Touch wood not a single problem. Starts and runs perfectly first time every morning
No problems apart from it smokes like mad if it's really cold!
Your screens more likely freezing on the inside because of the wet snow your bringing into the car on your feet, leaving the mats damp. Not a great deal you can do about it other than try to dry the carpet out with the heater dial set to feet on your commute.
Car starts really lumpy on the 2.2 sri petrol, more so than normal but probably due to delay of oil jets on belt.
Front suspension also sounds like it running dry when going over speed bumps
The cold weather has also de-badged the rear. Luckily I noticed and have managed to locate all. Might leave them off as looks better without.
One question is why doesn't vx fit heat trace on the windscreen washer pipes to thaw the frozen screen wash. The lack of Windscreen wash is dangerous due to salt being thrown up.
My VXR has been giving me all sorts of grief...
1) 235/35/19 Bridgestones' aren't any good in the snow.
2) TC goes ape every where.
3) Noticeable Fuel consumption and Bhp increases...
4.7mpg this morning xD
Sounds as though one of your glow plugs may just be starting to fail. Mine has the same problem and for the first few seconds on a cold start up the car runs on 3 cylinders until the 4th kicks in
Are you sure it's not your tyres that are making the noise. As weather gets colder, tyres get harder
