Default 1.9 cdti 150 only revving to 3k rpm

Wife brought the car home tonight saying it would only do 50mph on the motorway.
I've been out to it and it will only rev to about 3k.
I can't see any loose hoses or split pipes.
Its had a new manifold and egr valve this year.

Just the spanner light when a cold startup, which i'm assuming is glow plug related, as when i tried to get it read there wasn't any codes stored.

Aye, I'll have a look. I couldn't see any split hoses and they were where they are supposed to be.
Its not running lumpy, its just like its in limp home mode. lack of power, won't rev etc..

I found the manifold to intercooler pipe was loose, so i've replaced the knackered jubilee clip and now it performs ok.

the Engine shaped light is on though, not too sure why as I can't see anything else and the car appears to be performing ok, but i'll know for sure tomorrow when i can take it out for a decent run.

i've booked it in to a garage to check the light out anyway but it'll have to wait until 4th Jan.

engine shaped is probably emmissions light

in which case i'd be getting my egr off again and cleaning

are you sure they replaced it last time?

Either as mentioned the EGR valve is passed it or the Intercooler has split (if you are sure there are no split hoses).

More common for the intercooler to split in the CDTI's.

I replaced it with a brand new one about 6-8 months ago.
It goes normally up until you hit 3k, then hits a brick wall and no power. Before i fixed the hose it wasn't behaving normally.

I think i kept the old EGR valve (i only replaced it when trouble shooting a previous problem) as it wasn't faulty.

I'll stick that on at some point and see how i get on.

    Cheers guys,
