Seatbelt Chimes Missing

Does anyone know if it is normal for there not to be a drivers seatbelt fastened sensor fitted to an 04 model year Vectra-C "Active"?

During the startup phase the seatbelt not fastened warning light displays as normal during the power on test.

Bit of background to my question:
I've merrily driven my Active from new and have never received a single seatbelt not fastened chime or warning light. Of late I've had the chance to drive a 03b Club and numerous non-facelift Vx models including several -C's all of which merrily chimed and displayed a seatbelt warning light.

I asked my Vx dealer to look into the missing chimes which they did, they reported back that the under seat sensor was not present, I was then asked if the driver's seat had ever been replaced. It is original so I can't explain the lack of a sensor.

The dealer is going to make enquiries with Vx but they seemed unsure what response they would receive or in what timeframe I might be contacted, the problem with this is that my third year warranty expires on the 30th October so I would have liked to have seen a resolution before then.

It's probably normal. I think it was around 04 that they dropped the chime and just had the dash light. Probably to save on the cost of having to fit the seat sensor!

sod all on my 06 design .... can it be enabled ? had belt minder on my fords and although it was annoying it made passenger blet up even if they didnt want to . which is a good thing ....

Believe Duncan is right, my 04 GSi doesn't have them but mate's 53 plate Siggy Design does. I think I remember reading a previous post about this which said it was something to do with a change in the requirements for the Euro NCAP ratings.
