Got the Vec Back... Got rid of Passat hire car Yipee !!!!

Hi guys, Been vec-less for the last 10 days .....god not nice

Got the whole NS repaired and repainted £955.40 plus VAT

Not bad considering the wife and the guys at the Perth meet had a hard time seeing the damage.
At least somone else is paying for it.

Anyway had an 06 plate Passat for the 10 days...... not really impresed.

Very comfortable, nice interior, exterior would prob grow on you but bl00dy hell was the fuel economy terrible or what.

Car had 1400 miles on the clock when I got it and I handed it back after doing 350 miles and averaged 28 mpg

Surely that can't be good.
Not been thrashing it and the wife drove a lot of the time (because of my plaster

) and she drives Miss Daisy

So thankfully it is gone and I have the Vec back and just took it a blast to Edinburgh and back

Back in love

I went to Plymouth and back in a Passat the other week. I agree Really dull car. It's a reason for takenm me veccy down last time! The last few Hire cars have been pi** poor!

I stopped for a meeting on the way back and the guy says "like the car then?" "No it's really dull I hate it!" I said as he pulled his Passat key out of his pocket.

The passat is nowhere near as good as it used to be the only people who can love it are ones that have been blinded by the brand , the interior is very cheap , nice hard rubber coated plastics everywhere

It's a bit strange really. The books and docs in the car said it was 105ps TDi

But after checking the website 105ps is not available with 6 speed box

And there was no way it felt like the 140 ps 2l TDi SE model. ?
I hope it was not. If I paid 20K for that car I would be well pi$$ed off !
It was very gutless. Never been a big fan of VW brand and this really put me off.

Looks good so far, See what it is like when I get it washed and waxed.
The Bodyshop guy said it could be done anytime as it has been "baked" but I will leave it for a couple of weeks to make sure.

Plus need to get this F**KIN plaster off !!!!!!
Hopfully coming off on Monday.

Really glad to get vec back run to Edinburgh yesterday and even took it a run to Ayr today.

Need to start getting the bits and bobs back on and get it "pimped" a little
