    Default The Quickclear Windscreen

    What a brilliant invention!

But why isn't it available on all makers cars?

Surely Ford could make a few quid off licensing it to others?

Wonder if its more readily available in the US?

It's an at-cost option on new Freelanders and Skoda Octavia's and Superb's. I think the Skoda Yeti is the same.

It's not a licencing issue - Ford don't own the intellectual property rights to it, it's a cost issue.

Ford must be paying some amount of money to keep the right to themselves.

Hate them - unless the windscreen is spotlessly clean it gives me a headache looking through it, especially at night when oncoming headlights cause glare.

What's wrong with a scraper anyway? While cleaning off the ice from the screen gives the engine chance to warm up.

And some heated front screens can interfere with GPS signals.

It was or is licensed to Ford but unless the screen is totally clean I find it strange looking through it. I had it on a mondeo and an escort and when the screen needing changing I never got the heated one back in.
