    Default where the hell is the starter motor

    Does anyone know where the starter motor is on a signum 2.0 dti, i cant find it and im not 100% what im looking for

    Its underneath the turbo at the back of the engine m8,look in under there you will see it.

    You have another thread going on this so why make another ? As I stated starter motor is at rear of engine on right hand side as you look at it.

    Lean over engine and with a torch you will see it, there's 2 19mm bolts holding starter in place one underneath and one on top of gearbox,then you have 3 torx nuts holding wiring loom in place these are at top of engine running right to left just on side of head.

    Then the tricky bit as there's a torx nut holding the bracket for stater this is halfway down back of engine under turbo.And of course there's the wires to undo on starter

    iirc you can get to it underneath. It's at the rear of the gearbox and looks like a cylinder. Looking from the under the bonnet it would be at the right hand side of the car.

    You can get to it from underneath but space is limited because of exhaust and undertray you would have to remove all of this to get it out but I managed to undo bottom gearbox bolt and with a ratchet spanner undo nuts on starter motor for bracket,then I did rest from on top of engine with a torch
