Default vectra 1.9 cdti 150- running cold

my needle on my 150 never moves off the bottom- well only when stuck in traffic. Do you think i need a new thermostat? Spanner light is on for 1st minute of driving?

Sounds like it, does it drop back down as soon as the airflow builds up when moving again?
As for the spanner light my first thought may be glow plugs but best bet would to get codes read.

Mine does the same and I replaced the stat only about 8 months ago - however I still have plenty of heat in the cabin so wonder if my problem is actually the temp sensor rather than the stat itself?? As its a complete unit I havent got round to replacing it altho I should as its still under warranty!

As to the spanner light I had my codes read and cleared but all the codes related to my egr valve problem. Now they have been cleared the spanner light is back and I had been told it could be a glow plug issue. Drives fine so not in any rush to sort it!

depends on the temps you are experiancing 2 weeks ago we had temps between -9 and - 13 for a week my temp gauge never moved and only the last week when its been + 4 has it returned to normal

hello mate, had the same problem on my 1.9 150 Bhp, temp gauge on cold all the time, replaced the thermostat today and hey presto , temp back to 85c and that was after a 10 mins drive at -3.5c

i didnt have a spanner light on though...

replaced the glow plugs a week ago due to poor starting and that made no difference to the temp reading
