    Default Winter insanity

Just had to go post an important letter, on way saw yellow mini haring down our road, which is supposedly 30mph limit but due to all the side streets, eldrely and children, most people stick to 20mph. He/she was doing at least 40mph, maybe more.
I'd just got to my side street coming back when he/she came back the other way, still at same speeds.
The pavements were just freezing over, so were the roads, and the scattering of snow we had earlier had already frozen the dips and puddles.
If they'd hit a patch, at that speed, they'd have wiped out any pedestrians and gone through a garden, likely taken out a car or three or a house wall.
    Anyone else think it's crazy?

I usually wish these people to crash into lamp posts.

    Idiots.

On the other hand though, people doing 25 on a clear, salted and more or less bone dry dual carriageway

Yes, there's daft driving going on at both extremes, but I think excess speed on icy roads more likely to cause harm.

We have this down our road too, it's a one way street and with the snow we've had this morning on top of the ice, the conditions are awful, and I'm shocked at the number of people who drive like maniacs when the conditions are bad
