The excuses insurance companies use are amazing!

I phoned the insurance company this morning to let them know I'm moving in Jan and because I'd be living in the rural town where I work my annual mileage will reduce from 15k to about 6k. They've promptly increased my premium. When I asked why it costs more to live in a safer, quieter area and drive less they told me it was because the house I'm moving to is older than the one I live in now..

I still can't work out how the hell that has any bearing on the car but its only an increase of £2 a month so I'll just have to accept it.

How do they know the age of your house?
