What reallly gets my back up is people who have a headlight AND sidelight out on the same side, so on poorly lit roads it looks like a motorcycle until it's almost too late.

A lot of cars dont have automatic bulb check though, no excuse I know, but how often did people here check their lights prior to owning a Vectra??? Its amazing the amount of people I have managed to advice that they have no brake lights or that they are stuck on in the last year.

Get it every winter. I always checked ALL of my lights weekly, a lot obviously don't.
What annoys me is the muppets that must know they only have one headlight, so they put main beam on on the other, often plus fog lights, rather than change the damn bulb!

It's probably the same people who don't check their tyre pressures until one of the tyres falls off the rim etc. I once suggested on another car forum that people were lazy if they couldn't make time to check their tyres and/or lights once a week, or even once a fortnight - then got all sorts of negative responses justifying why it was so. I haven't changed my mind on that one.

I am equally particular about my lights as you guys and always do a check, tyres have been allowed to slip this last three weeks due to the snow on the ground as it is quite difficult to get an accurate reading at -4C and the old fingers seem to stop working after the first tyre!

I drive with my lights on all the time summer winter rain or sunshine and mine are always checked.
Also checke my tyres every month as sometimes the car sits around for 2 mths like it did on my last trip.

You get the numptys who think it's fine to go all winter with just on headlight working - as long as you put both foglights on to compensate!

Someone in our village has an 04 reg VW Beetle. For months now one of her rear tail lights has been out and more recently the brake light on the other side. I mentioned it to her the other day.

    - her response "Oh, the MOT isn't due yet"

    Silly cow.

Some people are so clueless and so afraid of being ripped off by a dodgy garage (dealership) that they carry on with lights out until the MOT.
