A metallic rattling sound which changes when the clutch is depressed
There is no shortage of DMF threads on here m8 have a search
When you turn the car off listen for a rattle.
Then do it again but keep your clutch pressed.
When the engines running slowly press the clutch pedal to the floor. If you can hear a rattle when the pedals about half way down to the floor that's the clutch & flywheel & it's goosed if it's doing this.
Mine has just started and has been diagnosed as the fflywheel.
Can it go on for a good few miles, and how much roughly is the cost for replacement all in?
Replacement is £700 upwards independent garage and £1200 ish main dealer with a new clutch
