prob new stat needed or is it when it really cold
Diesels tend to take a good while to heat up,it was really cold today and mine took about 8 mile then it started to move but mine was very slow before i changed my thermostat and it all so use to get upto temp then fall down again but now with new thermo it sits nice and toasty

press and hold settings button till you hear a beep
then use bc to navigate through the screens on the radio unit
one of them is the coolant temp
this will show it even before it rises on the analogue scale
chances are on a very cold day , with short run then you might not make 70 c which is where the analogue scale starts
does the car heat up?
Sounds like the thermostat has jammed open. Common fault on the CDTI 150's. Mine is like that, in the cold it won't heat up until I have done about 20miles.
Gazza4
Thermostat all the way. Gauge should move after about 8 to 10 miles in this weather.
The gauge doesnt start till 70 so it looks like it isnt heating up.
Bring up the menu and you can see it heating up.
Seem to be the most common fault on here at the moment. Just changed mine, temp up to 85 degrees in around 2 miles now.
Oh okay will have a look at the menu cheers, I do 35miles and it doesn't move and after returning to the car about 10 mins later I do another 35miles home and still doesn't shift!
