I'm looking to change the vectra next year and quite fancy an X3 diesel. Anyone owned one? Looking at the sport model leather/panoramic sunroof/manual
Did look at X5 but just too big for what I need

My sister had one, pretty quick for a 4x4 but if you looking at it for snow driving forget it, they are hopeless.
I'm guessing as they are 4wd they are going to be a lot better then a 2 wheel fwd vectra?
Just like the look of them and fancy a 4x4 that does not take 20 secs to get to 0-60 and returns 30mpg (X3 2.0d = 44mpg)
Just wondering what they are like to live with never owned a 4x4
friends of mine set their heart on one but soon discounted it as it drove badly with poor build quality apparently. Dare I say it but the Ford Kuga could be an option for what you are looking for, or perhaps a RAV4?..
I know someone that has owned one, check out the price of the tyres, only Perellie make them, and they were about £250 a corner,
Very very harsh ride and my vec will go places a x3 on standard tyres wont!! There again put winter tyres on it and itll be ok

"About as cool as the Argyle sweater your colour-blind auntie bought you, worn in the height of summer while working in a bakery. In Uganda."
"It can’t go off-road and can barely cope on it. What’s the X3 for again?"
"Rides like a pogo stick on a cattle grid."
As for the 4x4 + snow thing...... These cars wear sports summer tyre's, ANY car on winter tyre's will p1ss all over an X3 and winter tyre's are a darn site cheaper

Sister inlaw had one, as said: pants in the snow but a nice ride if you like that sort of thing
My old man has an M Class Merc. Much more of a 4x4 than the BMW. Not sure what the price comparison is like though and despite being a modern diesel its not particularly economical.
