    Default Emissions - 1.9CDTi

Car flew it's MOT today...86k, Straight pass, no advisories on wearing upper lower wassinks or whatever. I note, however the emmisions CO2 opacity score was 148... and the pass mark is 150 ot lower. Is this just cheapo fuel or should I start chewing my fingernails about EGR valves and the like? TIA.

Do you have any black smoke when you floor it as it's basically close to failing te smoke test there must be noticeable smoke when you boot it

Not really...I gave it a good hoof up to 4k a couple of times on the way to the test and had a look behind, but didn't notice much (mind you, it was a damp, dark morning so visibility were not exactly great....

What would need to be done to reduce the 'smoke' figure?

A good service air filter change, clean boost sensor, clean egr valve, clean maf, give it a good high speed thrash with redex diesel cleaner or millers treatment and shell v power diesel should sort things out a bit

I know you red lined it en route but do you just do that yearly? It might be that you've loosened a few soot deposits.
