    Default 2.0dti

I just thought id ask this question to anybody else who owns a 2.0DTI becuase i seem to think that mine is really poor on diesel. I get about 30mpg, about 300 to a full tank of fuel around £57, I sometimes get about 360 but no more. I dont exactly do long journeys but this must be not very good?

Does anybody know if this does seem low to you what it could be?

    Thanks

HI, well that is poor, i did a week worth of driving, mixed motorway and city, 3 men and a boot full of stuff, i topped up 120 in that week and i got 1600 miles, on average im looking 10p per mile, but motorway with cruise control im looking at best 4p.
im no mechanic but i think a good service is in order? it could be the way you drive but i can toe it everywhere and still get better m.p.g, sorry for the bad news lol

Hi danny for a 2.0 DTi you should be getting in the region of 43-48 per gallon
as for a possible cause i would check the usual things ie air filter , fuel filter .
she could be coked up ,What does she run like?.

I get around 37mpg from only town driving. Don't do much long journeys. Definatly get it serviced, if it has been serviced take it to a garage and get it looked at. Should be doing alot lot more than that.

My 2.2 DTi gets about 43/44mpg, so generally my reserve light comes on at about 500miles, so you getting 360 to a tank is dreadful!!

I'd say a good service will up the figures, hopefully you would have noticed but check none of the brakes are stuck on, dragging one or more around would ruin your mpg significantly.

How much are you looking for a full service or do you think it is easy enough to yourself. I changed the oil and oil filter about 3/4 months ago and will be going the same again soon when the weather gets abit better. Hopefully in january. I have owned the car about 6 months and i have no really service history so im guessing i will deffo need a service or do one myself.

Thanks for the responses and i think she runs fine, when i bought the car i though it would be faster though, i kno its only a 100bh but still i went from a 1.6 astra 8v and cant really seem to see that much difference.

Are these easy to change by yourself as i may just do this on my own to save the bill, just had to splash out £300 on the MOT.
