Sat in my office, minding my own.
See a lot of cars heading down the lane into our "private" car park.

They are employees of the Bank of Scotland across the road.
Due to the bank not lcearing their car park of snow, these folks think that they can simply fill our spaces? Em, no.

So we sit and watch them go back and forth, trying to squeeze into the spaces left, then THUMP, some cow smacks my Insignia!

EM, then starts to drive off. I have never moved so fast in my life, I literally jumped out infront of her.

She flatly denied doing it, then started stating, well if I did, I didnt feel it, then finished off with, "I simply dont have time for all of this im late for work"

Now, its not terrible damage, but will defo require paint.

Im in two minds, I could simply get a mate to do it and let her off.
But due to the fact that she simply tried to drive off and then denied doing it, I feel like dragging her through the insurance

Am I just being a grouch?

She did wrong, especially trying to drive away after incident. Make her pay. Any cameras in the carpark as you could then prosecute if she didn't want to pay. If she was respectable person then she should have the decency to own up and pay for the damage to be repaired.

If she done the decent thing and said sorry, I would have let her go but, she didn't. Any CCTV/Witnesses?

You won't lose no claims bonus, but Your insurance will increase because of it, so you need to decide if it's worth the hike in premium to teach her a lesson.

The way the insurance companies see it, the more you claim, the more likely you are to claim in future.

I carried on regardless just to teach the old fart a lesson!

I'd also send the Bank of Scotland an invoice for all the unauthorised parking,... you know what banks are like when you use their resources without their permission!!

see if she wants to pay privately or go through the insurers
give her 3 quotes and let her decide if she wants to hike her permium as its going to cost her more in the long run, if she refuses tell her you will report the matter to the police as a fail to stop RTC as she wasnt going to stop and you have witnesses
