Default Has my CIM Given up!?!

The problem started last week when I tried to start the car and basically nothing happened just a clicking from the glovebox area. I also noticed that the fuel gauge wasn't registering anything either. It then came back to life and started but with the spanner light up. This has now happened 3 times now and the last time the radio cut out aswell with just 'F' being displayed on the range left and consumption. Also this morning whilst driving along the traction control light came on and stayed on until i restarted the engine. I've got a bad feeling the CIM is on the way out as reading other posts its leading that way. Thought it was just a glitch but I don't think it is. Any help would be great. The car is a 2004 CDTi 150

Quick update, Driving it home from work a minute ago I lost all the dials, Battery light came on along with Traction control light and I also lost power steering and the power steering light came on in the rev counter display. Happened twice in 30min drive! It also wouldn't start earlier had to disconnect the battery and for some reason it would start. Please help. I'm thinking CIM or been reading could be altenator! Its booked in with VX Friday

Sounds pretty much the exact same symptoms i had with my Vec C. It was in fact the CIM which had failed. Mine ended up where i couldnt even open the car with central locking!

Defo worth checking the ABS plug first. As per other posts, take it off, clean it up and see if there is any difference. Better to check that first before you get stung for a new CIM.

I cant believe that so many CIM modules seem to be failing.. It must be a right money spinner for VX!

Wel;, got my car back and they said the CIM had to be re-programmed and some fuses had gone (odd!) and what happens as I drive it out spanner light comes on and the clocks to zero along with traction control light staying on. I'm still convinced its the CIM gonna have to push for one now I think! Doesn't the spanner light flag up faulty CIM units?

Well have resolved the issue. It turned out to be the power steering pump. Apparently a lot of data goes through it as it's electric including all my problems. So unfortunately it was an expensive fix. Hope this helps others in the future.
