Most probably the resistor in the blower! Blocked drain in the scuttle panel, water overflows and goes into the blower. Pollen filter be soaked too! Do you get a smell sometimes through the heater? This is a tell tale sign mine used to do it after using the air con!

The scuttle drain that gets blocked is under a lift section of the plastic scuttle - bonnet up, plastic goes along base of windscreen, pull off passenger end of rubber strip and lift approx 12" section of the plastic panel with 'venting' above it.
Below that you will find the cabin air intake with pollen filter in front of it and scuttle drain below that toward the middle of the car.

If clearing the drain, replacing/drying out the pollen filter and replacing the thermal resistor doesn't cure it, you might want to check the blower relays in the passenger footwell area.

when I washed down by the rad I knocked a switch off in front of the rad, pushed it back on could this have anything to do with the problem?

its a switch opposite the Rad on the inside of the bumper, cleaning round with a cloth and court the switch pushed it back, just wondered,

Should be covered on the warrantee, just thought I could do it myself to save messing about, is it an easy fix if itís the resistor?

Yes its easy enough mate just a bit fiddly! Gotta take out the glove box and its behind there! Resistor is about 10 - 15 quid iirc! Apparently you can repair it but I would just replace it tbh

think thatís what the garage must have done when I got the car, if they replaced it it hasnít lasted long, Iíll contact the warrantee company, if they cost about £15 may as well let them pay, thanks again
