    Default Handbrake noise

On the 3 rd click i get like a clonging noise like it's slipped, but continues to click when engaging, i remember this happening one or twice before but now it's happening pretty much all the time, tried to tighten the hand brake by holding down brake pedal and pumping handbrake but noise still there, anyone any ideas what this could be, no issues with the hand brake holding the car, but this noise has got me worried.

As steve says - self adjuster probably slipping. If its the same as the pre facelift you need a new handbrake assembly (about £150) and no they dont sell the adjuster seperately . To fit it you have to drop the exhaust to change it.

On a plus note mine's been doing it occasionally for a while but wasnt a issue on the mot so probably best to live with it until it causes a problem

Iirc the recall changes a spring in the handbrake lever to stop the handbrake releasing by itself and is nothing to do with the self adjuster

Usually you will have a sticker on your drivers side sun visor, if not give your local dealer a ring and they should check
