An HID kit mate, comes with special gas discharge bulbs and ballasts (required to start the bulbs).
The kits start at 50-60 quid![]()

Although John may disagree lol
Unfortunatly I do disagree mate, and most folk who have had problems with their kits from them would disagree too.
He ignored my e-mails until I threatened them with CAB/Trading standards and he said that I could send the kit back for a full re-fund. I'm still out of pocket for sending an old ballast back to them and the cost of sending the useless kit back too.
I'll never see that tenner again but at least I can go and buy a kit that works.
Mine are on route from china lol ..... £30 delivered 55w 6k kit
It does seem like there kits are hit and miss, only issue i ever get with mine is once or twice bulb warning comes on when ones failed to ignite... Engine off and on, then lights - has always sorted it...
If they last 2yrs+ i'll be happy, want a fog kit now but still debating risking Hids Direct...
First to the OP, They are very worthwhile fitting and make a wonderful difference in that you can now see at night!
As for the supplier, many have had no issue with HID-direct (like me) but many have had issues. These kits are all chinese manufactured in the main so are prone to their "questionable" quality control issues.
The more popular a company becomes (such as HID-direct) the more kits thye need to source and hence quality can and does slip wildly!
Hids make a massive difference and are pretty easy to fit, i used hids direct and didn't have any problems but as said it seems to be pretty hit and miss how well they work so choose carefully where you buy them from![]()
Yup, I agree with that - still no excuse for sending the cheaper and inferior sidelight LEDs that they thought were better than the Mtec's I ordered (and still paid the same price for) or the fact that one of the connectors missing from the HID kit was sent out three weeks later and I had to pay the Post Office an extra £1.50 (Ish) because the stamp was only 2nd class!
Are they canbus compatible though, or at the very least come with bulb warning cancellers?
Here's my recommendation, btw.

No issues with them being supplied, or advice given by them prior to buying. No connection with them, just a happy customer of theirs.
