    Default 35w v 55w Xenon Kit

    Hello There!

Havnt posted on here in a while but ime back because i know your all so good at answering questions.

Ime fitting a xenon kit over christmas to a 2010 Ford Fiesta Zetec S.

At first i was going to fit a 35w kit but looking now i am thinking why not go for a 55w kit.

The standard halogen bulbs are 12v 55w fitted to the car, so I would imagine that it would be okay.

I have read some stories about other cars having the wiring harness burned or damaged.

I hope you can shed some light (haha) on this for me guys as last thing i would want is a melted wiring harness.

The kit I am buying will be a professional kit from HIDS4U, so no cheap charlie kits.

    Many Thanks

55w kits are perfectly safe. like u said, standard bulbs are 55w.

I hope the new Fiesta has projector type headlamps then. These H1R, H3R and H7R type lamps are all very well in non-projector units, but the beam pattern can be lousy, leading to MoT problems.

Many thanks for your quick replys, it amazes me the knowledge you can get from this forum in such a short space of time, ime a member of the fiesta forum aswell, and its hard to get a reply.

I think its just that i read somewere that it could damage the light wiring harness, but as my original light bulbs are 55w surely it would only be the same thing.

Yes they have projector caps on the lights, and as xenons operate at a cooler temprature than halogen bulbs ime pretty sure that the heat in there wont be too much to melt anything haha.

Once again, thank you for your replys, and you also mentioning a way to save money.

    Top guys !

    Chris
