    Default Exhaust flexi size.

Sorry mods if i've put this in the wrong section but wasn't sure where to put it.

Got the car booked in at the beginning of Jan at Vauxhall for it's free MOT but when i had it serviced there last month they advised the flexi had come apart.
I knew this but as i see it it's just the ends of the outer mesh that has come apart.
Now i'm thinking i'd better get it replaced just in case they decide to fail it even though i think its not blowing.

Does anyone know the sizes of one for a 2004 GSi and roughly does about £120 sound about right to replace it. I would go back to MIJ to get it done but i think its a bit too far to go just to replace a flexi.

The going rate is around £60 supplied and fitted, double that is just a bit much.

If its just the mesh cut it off, it wont fail on that. Mines been cut off for the last 2 years and passes fine. If your worried about leaks then get it up on ramps, and have a look for any soot marks, or start it up and get someone to put there hand over the zorst and listen out for any noise. HTH

If you know any welders mate you can buy the flexi bit off ebay(any size).
You can even get clamp on flexis but i've never tried them.
A mate put one of the weld on ones on the wifes hyundai coupe, £30 ebay. Spot on, but i would suggest getting a slightly bigger diameter one as this can be welded over, we went 2mm over but 4-6mm would've made the job much easier

If only i could find somewhere round here that would do it for that.
MIJ want £95, Top Gear in St Albans (Powerflow dealer) wanted £120 and i also rang a garage in Bedford that wanted £90 + vat.

I was quoted 90-100 quid also by a few places, they would rather just fit off the shelf exhausts i think, much quicker/easier
