    Default Handbrake recall.

Just received a letter from vauxhall customer services. looks like my Veccy missed the Handbrake recall. I'm a bit peeved as i bought it from a dealer in 2008, so u would expect them to check all recalls had been done, I know i did whenever i did Network Q examinations in dealer when i worked there.
Not sure exactly what needs to be done, its booked in on Tuesday and been told it will take about 1 hour.
Also noticed in Recall section of this forum there is nothing about the Handbrake recall. I know there are threads about it, but would be worth a moderator looking into putting the info on here.

do a search mate,, mine is january 04 and only just had the letter my self, as I have had the car over 2 years and never had a problem I wont be getting the mod done, its just a spring clip thing that quite a few have removed after fitting for various reasons.

There's nothing to worry about, there's nothing wrong with the hand brake system but its been found that users are not applying it correctly!, it should be applied with your thumb away from the button, the best & most secure way is when stopped apply the foot brake firmly & at the same time apply the hand brake as mentioned above, the recall is just an extra spring it takes about 1 minute to fit! THATS IT!, It will make your handbrake feel like its from a 1996 transit! firm clunky & horrible!, mine lasted 2 days before i ripped it back out!, if it concerns you do it but as a rule of thumb just leave the car in gear its fool proof. well nearly there's always some dumb thing that will ram their car into something.

Ive had a peep at the west mids meet section & its looking a bit grim!, there doesn't seem to be much promotion or reminders in the general sections so it may be quiet, i was planning to go & the roads are dryer so a cleaner car! may persuade me but I'm not 100% sure, if i do the meet just of the motorway at 8.15 is what Ive seen & will be there for 8/8.15
