Default D.V.L.A should sort this out big time.....

Ive just came home from the chippy and came across two of them!!!! One on the roundabout, no indicator and cut me up, and another on a junction just pulled out on me inches from a smash!!!!!!!!

O.A.P's they should be made to retire there licenses at 65-70 or have a re-test, I don't want to sound mean and get up peoples backs but they are the worse,

See how you feel when they threaten to take you licence away when you are older!!!

That apart I agree some senior citizens are terrible but believe it relates to what they have done in life if their only driving was at week-ends then they have not got the skills for the amount of traffic and. speeds on todays roads .
There are hundreds of thousands of professional drivers and persons that have driven tens of thousands of miles during their working lives that can give some of the younger drivers a run for their money

We've already had several post about this sort of thing. I thought we'd established two things/ First, OAP's already DO get retested regularly.
Secondly, bad driving is bad driving, not age related, or staistics would put under 21's as the highest risk, followed by under 25's.
As I've said before, I don't assume the youngest driver at any accident is incompetent and responsible, so why is it people think you can generalise about the over 50's?
I could start a thread every time I have a close shave with a young driver, but, to be honest, I don't have the time.
There are drivers of all ages who shouldn't have licences!

There are plenty on the road who's age falls way below 65-70 that should not have licenses tbh. But I do wonder if drivers in general should have to do some kind of refresher course every 10 years or so.

If you have a licence you have shown you are capable of driving a car its up to the attitude of you and the person in the other car to wake up and take note of whats going on around them no matter what age they are.

I might have passed my test 44 years ago but i can still remember one section that goes something like anticipating the actions of other drivers ..does this case not fall into this category
