    Default Some Signum Advice please

As title I going to look at a signum, I know a bit about vectra c's as I was contemplating getting one and did some research but I like to be a bit different and fancy something a bit rarer, so I'm going to look a a signum, its a 2.0 Turbo I know nothing about that engine (as the vectra I was looking at were either the 2.2 petrol or 2.2 Deisel) so was just wanting to know is there anything I need to look out for with either the engine or the car, is the engine belt or chain driven, does it need the belt changed and at what mileage etc any help would be apprecited

    Thanks in advance

Hi Mate 2.0T owner here. Belt is a not a belt........... but........... a chain. I love the T engine. It can be thirsty but with everything it is about how you drive it. Great on long journeys and can be a wolf in sheeps clothing. I get people asking me about the Siggy a lot becuase it is quite unique.

Descreet Power that can be easily tweeked to push out more.

Thats good to know so does the chain need to be changed? I'm kind of addicted to turbos, I had a remapped almera turbo deisel which was fast and very economical, then I had a S40 T4 which was just awesome, such a sleeper, then I went mental and got a 4x4 3 months of that was enough (wished I hadn't sold the volvo), so I'm after another turbo really and the signum/vectra are such good value I can get a 53/04 on my budget and if I was looking at a T5 or T4 as I had originally planned it would be a 2000-2001 just decided would rather have a newer car that probably isn't quite as fast

They are generally bullet proof m8. If I was going for a petrol Vectra/Signum it would be that engine I would have.

best in engine in the range bud, very reliable, very tunable.. Saab 9-3 SS has the same engine mate and the swedish tuners have quite few options for them, you can take them over 300bhp if you wanted but I am keeping mine tuned to just under that

I love the power that i get putting my foot down burning off all and sundry as they try and nail their throttles but just fall behind. As most peeps do not even know what a signum is it makes it more fun.

I need to buy a another car soon to replace my wife's vec B and the only engine i will consider after all have read on here is the 2.0 Turbo.

You can see mine in my profile..

    welcome to the Forum

total vauxhall had a very good spread in the December issue ....out now at all good newsagents

that involved Matt&Jemz car and had a lot of input from people on here in the article - shows all of the basics whats good and whats not .... and some tuning options

the z20net is a very nice engine and i loved mine ...the only reason she went was she was getting on in age/costing in replacement wear and tear items .......... and i wanted a little more power

0-Large smile ......every time it's driven
