I've recently found that Thorney Motorsport can remap the 2.2DTi as well.
It's a fairly conservative remap in terms of power which rather leans me toward it for various concerns about trying to get too much out of the 2.2DTi
The remap should get 142bhp, Im probabally going to go with this one, but I have a couple of other upgrades to make first as I want to be getting 150bhp after the remap

Below is a copy of an email I recently received from them

Yes we can remap your car and the performance gains are as below

    Engine type Turbo Diesel

    Original BHP 123

    Original Nm 270

    BHP increase 19

    Nm Gain 56

    Lb/Ft Gain 41

The cost would be £499.00 inc vat

We would be able to do this for you from Tuesday next week if you would like to book in

Problem is most companies cannot re-map the Vec C DTi due to the type of fuel pump. Of the re-mappers that can state they can re-map the 2.2 they are normally referring to the Vec B which had the older pump.

EDS can definatly remap the DTi as there are a few members on here with that map

True, although my message above was a result of reply directly regarding the Vec C 2.2DTi

You have a tuning box dont you John?
I must admit reading some of the past posts, if I was going for a tuning box I would go for the same as you. I just tend toward a remap wherever possible.
Interested to know some of the other mods you have made though and what sort of power you are now getting mate?

I do have a tuning box mate, the beauty of the box is that if heaven forbid the pump does fail then I can fit the box onto the new pump. With the ECU being built into the pump if you get it mapped and the pump fails you'll lose the map when you fit a new pump

I've run with the tuning box for about 15k now and the only fault I have is a slight surge if it's really cold and the engine is cold. Once the engine has heated up its fine. Last time it was rolling roaded the clutch was slipping and it only made 144BHP

The time before that it made 155BHP and about 280lb ft of torque with only the box and a K&N panel filter. Next step will be a sports clutch and a de-cat

The steinbauer can also be switched and it's like night and day when you switch it off

Im still deciding weather to go with the K&N panel filter or the K&N 57i induction kit before I get the remap. Both are fairly reasonably priced I guess, I have other induction kits in mind but they are all over 250 quid, and I just cant bring myself to spend that much on induction for just a few bhp if you know what I mean.
How did you find just the panel filter alone?

Personally i'd say a box, I know i'm biased as I have one. I have thought about a re-map but the box is alot more flexible than a re-map, you can turn the box off, or disconnect it and then when you come to sell the car you can sell it on.

And as I said before, if your pump blows with a re-map then you'd have to get the new one mapped too. The box would just transfer over. That said, dti pumps blowing up is a rare occurence
