    Default Changed thermostat and...

    What a difference

    Drove 5 miles and temp gauge was up to 88 degrees and stayed there (+1 degrees outside). What i couldn't get over was the amount of heat
    I had to turn the blower off due to burning hands

    I have had this non-working gauge for a year since i bought the car and i have to say, i'd got used to the Vec diesel being a "cold car" (perception). All that has changed now tho

    Also had done:

    Interim service
    Oil + filter
    Fuel filter
    Antifreeze
    Drop link changed
    Anti roll bar bushes changed

    I have already noticed a change in how the car performs. Took it for a test run and there is a hell of a difference in acceleration!! Dunno if this was because she was running cold etc, but i am one happy chappy

    when the snow melts im getting mine booked in and not listening to the garage when they say it normal for the vec to run at 70 degrees

    Ahh i had all that to the back teeth Nokiaman and it's the reason in the end i didn't get it done. I regret it now lol.

    Take the plunge m8, it's changed my car completely

    Just got myself the kit to change my thermostat, im sitting at around 75 and dropping when moving, so im pretty sure the thermostat is at least partially jammed open.

    I also have a slight coolant leak apparently (according to the garage), though i've seen a bit of steam from around near the drivers headlamp, im at a loss to find an actual leak.......

    Glad yours is sorted now m8,

    I did'nt quite burn my hands with mine but I certainly had to turn it down a bit

    Big difference now
