Default We all knock Halfords but................

seeing all the how to's for removing bumpers / airboxes / light clusters to change the driver's side headlamp bulb I though I would take it Halfords as my DIY skills are a bit limited.

Agreed, the bulb itself was pretty expensive but a total cost of less than £15 and five minutes time to get it fitted was well worth it. All he did was unclip one hose and then was able to get his hands down the gap.

He must have done a vectra before lol. Yeah the N/S i take the washer bottle neck off and the O/S i take the plastic duct off for the airbox. Easy peasy but a bit fiddly.

If you'd had a Halfords trade card, the discount you would have gotten would have given you an idea of how big the profit margin is on the bulb, then you'd be cursing them for charging such a high price to non-card holders.

Pre facelifts can be done with removal of the airbox lid only for the drivers side and the washer bottle for the passenger side.

I can't speak for facelifts though.

does it depend on which engine you have?... I had pre facelift 2.2 petrol and managed both sides easily,.. now have facelift CDTI and I can't be bothered with drivers side despite comments on how quick and easy it is.

I did the driver side bulb on my pre-facelift without removing the airbox lid. It was pretty simple. Defo need to remove the washer bottle neck for the passenger side though.
