Transfering from a 05 to a 08 should be no problem. Make sure Screen and HU are a matched pair. It will then just slot in and work. If you can, get the Security Code and ensure that it comes with a map CD!
The GPS antennas which Cristian posted above are about £6 off ebay. The GPS will sit nicely in the frontspeaker compartment in the center of the windscreen which leaves a nice tidy installation.
ok thanks guys. think everything included except the ariel. think ill keep a watch on the price
The location of the aerial in the speaker box will be hindered, if you have the sun-sensor on top of the dash, for electronic climate control.
other than that, it should be plug and play
But yes, do note Aidi's comments regarding audio pass codes etc.
ok ill ask the seller cheers
I have CD70-Navi in my 57 Elite. I have been told on here that I do not need radio code as it is full Can Bus but I have also seen on here that the units have to be divorced from original car and paired to your 08. This has to be done by Tech2
As long as the CD70 and display unit are removed as a working pair, they will install straight into your car.
The time divorcing and pairing becomes a requirement, is if the CD70 unit and a Display unit are not a "married" pair.
You will need the original (donor vehicle's security code), if your vehicle is different from the donor vehicle in the following ways...
with or without ECC (climate control)
with or without BC (if you wish to change board computer functionality)
with or without add-on heater
with or without check control (if you wish to change functionality)
with or without ice crystal warning...
I am planning on doing a very comprehensive how 2 for CD70's in the not too distant future... it should then answer most queries
