Cruise control on ice?

Tried this last night, climbing a steady hill in my mates estate (he lives right at the ****** top), had to feather the throttle to stop the wheels spinning, then had the bright idea to use the CC. Could just be me, but the car seemed to pull itself up lovely, 2nd gear, approx 12mph, and no spinning!

Anyone else tried this?

Yea i have tried this before, worked a treat theres a massive hill towards exeter called telegraph hill, just pulled me up steady in 3rd.

Yes, must just be you. The CC doesn't work below approx 18 or 20 mph.
