Hissing & Fumes

Hi guys, I have a problem with a strange hissing sound coming from the passenger side of the engine bay only when hard revving under load. i.e. not when revving in neutral. I'm guessing it's the passenger side because i can hear it best with the passenger window down when i'm running alongside a wall or something like that. I have no smoke from the exhaust but I'm occasionally smelling diesel fumes whilst in the drivers seat. I've had a feel around at the hoses but can't feel any splits. Maybe time to get the bumper off?

I also have a spanner light (unrelated i think, as it's only just started coming on and the hissing has been there for weeks). Anyone fancy reading the code for me one evening next week? In the South Yorkshire area? Christmas beer tokens?

I am pretty sure you have a split intercooler pipe or even a split intercooler it will be a bumper off job to inspect properly as the split can be minute but under boost it will prise open and the car and spanner light I bet it will be intake system air leak. Have a look at the u bend pipes that attach to either bottom end of the intercooler or the intercooler itself for splits should be oil residue around the area too

I replaced the £180 intercooler in march, so hopefully it wont be that. I have no oil residue on the AC rad so i'll keep on hoping.Guess i'll have to wait for the 4 inches of ice to thaw so i can get under and have a look.
