Front Wiper Probs on Vectra C

My front wipers on Vectra 06 plate have been playing up since the summer. Intermittent and speed 1 will not work, speed 2 works but will stop anywhere on the screen when you use the control stick to stop them. I have tried swapping the two wiper relays around and this hasn’t helped so it appears the relays are working. Does this mean that the only fix is a new motor?

it could mean a new motor, have you had the fault codes checked first to see if there is anything else going on that could be affecting the wipers..?

Thanks for the replies, useful pics shown as well. May just get a second hand motor from the breakers and try that.

blimey, never knew about that one... i have changed the wiper mechanism beofre but never had to deal with opening the motor, I don't like jobs like that but if it saves money it has to be worth a try..
