    Default rear number plate lights

One of the bulbs on my rear number plate lights has gone.
So I was thinking of getting some new bulbs like you see on BMWs over the last few years.

I assume they are LED bulbs as they are a kind of whitey-blue and not the usual yellow.

Anybody tried this? Or got any recommendations. Don't want to get any bulb warnings.

You won't get bulb warnings as the no. plate lights aren't part of the system. They will flash when you lock/unlock the car though

Get the Canbus LED's off eBay, I got the canbus Festoon bulbs for my ZT and they look awesome, you can get the same for the Vec too.

I'm not sure if the number plate lights are part of the canbus for mine, but I got the CANBUS bulbs just incase and they are perfect.

Yes because they are still emitting light on a public highway. Most eBay ads state they are not for road use, as do most of the led lights in halfords etc for that very reason. But honestly, the likely hood of being caught out is tiny.

Why will the LED number plate lights flash?

Any body know what actually causes this flashing as I assumed it was something to do with the bulb checking...

But that cant be true if it still flashes lol
