Question Powerloss on high speeds (z19dth)

    Hello,

I got a problem, when i drive more then 120 km/u and i want to speed up i feel something like a fading* (up/down) and the car speed up a littlebit.
When i drive 150+ km/u the maintenance light is coming up and the engine stops for a moment (untill i drive 130 km/u or less) and the light is going off.

This is only on high speeds or on the 5th or 6th gear.

Ps. i have a automatic gearbox.

*fading = what i mean with fading = normaly you feel the car wants to speed up, but i feel a speed up 1 sec and then speed down 1 sec and then speed up .... speed down.. The car speeds up but not fast a normal.

My question, did someone over here knows the problem?

    Thank you.

    Rob

Sounds like either the 3rd injector plug is need ing to be replaced or the throttle body may be faulty.

    could be either, agree

egr is easier to sort in short term

tbh the egr valve typically limits power altogether in the upper rev range rather than 'fluctuations' of power. But then anything is possible.

    too true.

but my egr was cleaned first off

    then blipped as described

a bit of soot was trapped. a tiny bit was all that was needed

thats why i clean it to within an inch of its life

    worth injector wiring check too

I've had that too and it was the throttle body alongside the injector wiring. As I anything is poissible.

best bet is to work through in sequence

    check all hoses

    boost sensor

    throttle body including soldering

    injector wiring

    manifold replacement

    vacuum pump

after that get back to us

    Hi,

    Thanks people!

I blinded the EGR valve (with http://media.photobucket.com/image/e...erapics001.jpg )

I cleaned the boost sensor (it was dirty)

I cleaned the connectors of the injectors (and replaced one).

    The manifold was replaced.

I replaced some vacuum pipes, so maybe the pump.

I will also check the throttle body including soldering and the vacuum pump.
