    Default AFL Retrofit

Hi, before I go and make an idiot of myself at work, is it possible to retrofit AFL to my 2008 08MY 1.8VVT Design? if it is possible, what would I need to get? I have access to EPC when at work, but before getting too far into it, I thought it would be asking the fountains of all knowledge that reside on here!

Obviously, if it is going to be stupid money, then it doesn't make sense, but I may consider it depending on what is involved - any comments/experience is gratefully received as always!

    Thanks in advance

    Dave

Yes they can be retro fitted.

    You'll need:

    AFL headlights (not cheap)
    Levelling Sensors
    New CIM
New Plugs for the headlights and Sensors

And you'll either need a new loom for the headlights or to make one up.

oh and of course, the customary tech2.

I'm sure Andy.L will correct me if I've missed anything out.

    I believe you will need:

    - AFL Headlight obviously
    - Levelling sensors
    - Not sure here but a steering rack (don't know if you could an get aftermarket system for checking steering angle).
    - Light switch panel for an auto levelling system (ie it doesn't have the switch to raise/lower headlight angle).
    - Tech 2 session

There could be more and I think it is possible but not 100%.

you dont need a new rack as the cim controls the movement, and your existing switch will work but obviously the levelling knob wont do anything (although I think for the sake of having it "pukka" then a new switch is a good idea).

hmmm..this really is sounding like an expensive mod...perhaps not the best plan! the only thing I can guarantee is a free tech 2 session...might be one to chat to the techs at work about, and keep a keen eye out on ebay methinks!

geez..to get this at a sensible price, I think this mod would wipe out all the favours I have built up in 7 years at Vauxhall - but, I guess it won't hurt to ask the question!lol but, i'm not going to hold my breath!
