Default Just bought an OBD-II scanner

£23 off eBay, I'm well pleased with it.

I've scanned for and reset fault codes so far, and taken a look at the monitoring options. After a 10 minute drive, everything seemed to check out ok, except for the cat, which still read "not ready".

Anyone know how long it takes for the cat to be checked out? Does it just have to get really really hot?

    Linky?

Wouldn't mind something to clear codes when they appear.

Had my manifold done and got it reset for £35 then the alternator went and popped it back on!

Depends what engine you have and how the car was driven.

From what I remember it's only ready when the cat is upto 300 Degrees or if you have a DPF upto 600 Degrees.

When we do a full cycle to heck a car out on our scanner it needs to be driven for at least 7 miles.

I got one a while back as I have a few errors after my led conversion due to some rogue solder!

Was great and able to reset! Kept in car with all my goodies haha

Very cheap item ...... Is it limited in code reading and clearing or is it a handy tool to have?

    Ever saved anyone some cash?
