Default Best way to boost radio reception?

It has started to crack me up now, my aftermarket unit is crap at picking up radio, sometimes even radio 1 is crackly

Has anyone got any tips to get a better/clearer signal (and not by getting rid of radio lol)

    Anyone had these issues?

I find turning the 'regional' and 'local' settings off gives a moderately better signal.

Always have the 'AF' off - too many black spots up here and spends most of its time scanning only to find Radio 4!

the problem with crackles is usually when the heated rear screen is on ...... its an issue with oversensitivity with the aerial base and its location to the rear screen ..... lots of manufacturers have this issue, if you search on google for heated rear screen radio interference it brings up loads of matches .... some people have fitted an in line supressor and its helped others (like me) realise its a poor design fault and usually listen to a cd while the rear screen deices THEN switch back to the radio

its weird ...the old Siggy never had the issue ... the new one does so it may only affect the vehicles with integrated SATNAV ....

hopefully if you turn off your heated rear screen you will find the interference goes away

0-Large smile ......every time it's driven

hmmmm its really all the time TBH, i just thought i may be able to boost signal with better aerial, or by running another power line to aerial or even getting a signal booster

Have you always had it or is it just since fitting your HIDs? Some of the cheaper kits can give radio interference when switched on
