how much oil from max to min?

on a 2.0dti how much oil is from max to min? checked mine today and first reading was on the second mark drove to another flat spot to check the it was on the 3rd marking (3 readings i took), temp was at 85c


so how much oil does it take from max to min?

Mine is way more than 1 litre, nearer 1.75 litres

cheers, should the car use much oil? tbh tho i dont think ive let the car run to get a correct reading, ill take it to kwik fit to see if they can see any oil leaks, stupid question but do you use more oil doing stop and start?

When was the last time it was topped up, and whats the mileage on the clocks?

oil change feb this year but when i checked it in August it was on min so i toped it up and over filled it nation emptyed it for me and put new oil in it for free, milage is only 50k unless i aint let it get to temp, there is a stong smell in the morning tho like a diesel smell but i think i need to give it a good blast only do short driving

ill give it a drive down the motorway tomorrow to get it nice and hot then test it then,


am i right in saying to get the correct reading the oil had to be nice and hot? do i have to leve it for some time before checking?

I run mine up to temperature, shut the engine off and wait for 5 mins and then check it
