have vauxhall used volvo brakes on vxr's?

as title suggests have vauxhall used volvo t5 calipers on the vxr's? as these ones for sale on ebay for a t5 are a spitting image of vxr's and are even powdercoated blue only difference being they have a yellow "R" on them

I suppose the question is not if VX have used Volvo brakes but if Volvo and VX use the same supplier for their big brake set ups. I guess the only difference would be mounting points. If you knew who actually make those calipers, Lucas girling, haldex etc. then perhaps you could trace part numbers and check for a proper match.

Audi use the same calipers as well , but the Vauxhall 1s have GM cast into them

vauxhall and volvo dont make brake calipers they buy them to spec so others can do the same ,...

The VXR brakes are made by ATE, who supply lots of different companies. They also look 99% identical to the ATE calipers on the Focus ST.

so is it possible that they are actually all the same caliper just different carriers?

when i fitted my vxr brakes to my 2.0 turbo i asked a mate what pads i can use in the end i used focus st pads as there all the same and cheaper

so buy them and all you would need is carriers???, i think there about £150 from what i can remember from reading on here

i personally don't need them as i already have 345's on mine i just came across them looking for volvo t5 parts.
