Default Z22SE '53 plate Signum Exhaust system

    Hi all

I have a '53 plate 2.2 direct petrol Signum Elite with 50k on the clock.

I heard my exhaust blowing earlier so dropped in to my local (not so) Quick Fit place. They popped it on the ramp and called me over. It's about then that the 'mechanic' sucked his teeth and shook his head.
He showed me 3 different places that were blowing. Wouldn't you know it, all 3 holes are in different a section of the exhaust meaning that I need to replace the whole system.
This is where I started to go pale and sweat at the same time...
I asked him to quote me up for a new system. He looked on his system before telling mr that the they can't source the parts as they're Vauxhall only parts!

    My question is this;
Was he spinning me a line or do I really have to go and be ripped off at the main dealer for a car that's 7 years old?
Oh, and does anyone know what sort of cost this is going to cost?

Thanks for reading, hope you great people can come up with a solution for me

Go to MIJ Exhausts mate, Stainless Steel complete system for ca £350,00 and a life time garantee. They needed about 2.5 hours to fit mine, Have more power and a great sound !!!

    Thanks for that quick response.

It can't be taped, all the holes are on the joints.
I don't think I'll go to quick fit again, 40 minutes of hanging around to be told they can't help me.

Will I need to buy a new rear valence as my car has the hidden tailpipes not a chrome end or will they be able to build a 'hidden pipe'?

Keep an eye on the bay if its just to tie you over for the time being, I got a twin factory system for £60, or as said MIJ. By the way, your car is a Z22YH, the SE is the none direct and was never fitted to the Siggy.

    Great,
Thanks for the advice. I'll be sure to look them up tomorrow.
Sounds like the petrol money will be worth spending.

Oh, thanks for the advice Rushy, I didn't realise.

Don't forget that the VX Trade Club price is about half the standard VX price for the exhaust.

OO, Powerflow sound helpful, maybe I'll look them up too.

Excuse my ignorance Jezzy, but what's the VX Trade Club and how do I get in touch with them?
