Smile my first year with the vec C

    Hi there everyone
Was Just looking through some receipts and thought I’d post a thread on my first year of owning my C
When I bought her she was a bit worse for wear but with the money I had It was the only vec C I could afford lol
Since Jan I put 6000 miles on the clock.
    Things I have replaced :
    4 shocks (blistien b4)
    4 springs ( eibach)
Discs and pads all-round (mintex grooved discs)
    Spark plugs
    Oil &filter x2
    Pollen filter
    Air filter (k&n)
    Timing belt (60k change)
Outside temp sensor (still not working correctly)
Factory cd player (the one in the car didn’t work)
    Exhaust (duel ulter sport)
    Car matts (custom sri)
    All Rear bushes
    Thermostat (done today)
3 kumho tyres ( now changed to 19” vxr reps)
I think thats it apart from a few mods.
Apart from the common faults encountered I’ve loved the C and glad I bought one
I only wish I had a bigger engine one lol oh and I still need to get whats turned out to be a bottom half respray ! which I don’t mind because marks on the car annoy the hell out of me. The one thing that I’m not looking forward to is the dreaded dmf problem ! all the hard work isn’t in vain tho because the car did look like S**T when I got it and now looks quite nice for 2003 car.
the pic is when I bought the car after a wash, since I did buy a dirty car, link is the last clean pics I have
Have any of you guys done much to your car when you got it?

    Vehicle : Golf 7

    Trim : GTD

    Engine : 2.0 TDI 184PS

    Year : 2014

    Mileage : 40000

    Default

Not much in the first year but it all started in the second year:

    - TC Switch
    - Cooled glovebox
    - Airbox mod
    - VXR Rear lip spoiler
    - SRI Rear bumper
    - VXR Rear Valance
    - Twin VXR Replica Exhaust
    - Lowered on Eibachs
    - 19" Snowflakes
    - SMD Conversion
    - Irmscher front grille

Then the CDTI engine Needed attention:

    - Replaced Manifold
    - Replaced Intercooler
    - Replaced wiring looms
    - Replaced EGR valve
    - Timing belt

Porbably forgot some. Amazing how the bug bites.

Having a 1.9 I had to stop listing the 'replaced this and that'.

The DMF's seem to only affect the 1.9 150bhp models you should be fine.

As in pm m8 your car doesn't need a DMF so will have a proper flywheel.

I'm a month away from a year. First ever diesel, that took some getting used to. Changed a few things from choice, but despite having the 1.9 CDTi, absolutely nothing has gone wrong.
I'll likely need two new tyres by MoT (June) time, it's never let me down and I love it.
