    Default How Honest Are You?

Getting new tyres on SWMBO's Tigra and seeing as its a 1.4 and never close to racing speeds, got a couple of budget tyres (Autogrip - Chinese rebranded). Asked for and paid for a couple of 205/45/17's for the front and was chatting with the fitters. They went to put the wheels back on and I noticed they had put on 225/45's accidentally. I pointed the mistake out and felt bad for the fitters having a bit extra work.

Would you have said anything? Or would you have let the sleeping dog lie?

The difference in radius would have left a reading of 2.9% slow so would be doing about 62 when showing 60.

Too right I would have pointed it out. If your paying for it then you should get what your paying for. I also wouldn't feel that sorry for him as it was his fault in the first place.

If he was fitting michelins instead of the cheap tyres youd asked for I wouldn't have pointed it out though

Ah, but the 225's would have been a more expensive tyre? Better for summer fun!! The garage has a seperate warehouse so it would have been the dingbat who sent the wrong ones up IMO.

Well, if that had been the case, I would have not noticed!! Until it was WAY too late!!

They have made a huge difference in the snow on the Tigra. Got Dunflops on the Vec which seem to handle things nicely.

Need to find a good high mileage tyre for winter though. Doing in excess of 30k per year.

Thing you will find the 225x45 are actually cheaper as they are a more popular size
