Have you give this a very good run?

Why i ask is the thermostat may open at 92c so when it's -8 it will take longer than it would if -1 to warm up.

I drive 8 miles today to work in the diesel which takes longer anyway and the temp gauge did not move which is normal.

Please don't expect it to work quicker if it's much colder outside.

either a blocked matrix or air lock in matrix (if you think about it its a circle the water flows all round system so should be hot going in and hot coming out) try to back flush swap in pipe to out or pour water down the return from engine bay slowly so the air can escape
