    Default Coolant change

    is there a drain on the radiator to drain the engine water coolant?

    Couldn't see one when I did mine, just removed the bottom hose.

    There is one on mine and I think its a non genuine part so should be on all. Its on the drivers side of the rad on the plastic end tank. The tap is pointing to the side of the car and the outlet pipe is pointing towards the engine over part of the subframe. I just put a short length of garden hose over it to direct the flow into a bottle.

    Its not, only covers fuel, oil and windscreen wash. Might be in the service schedule though.

    Thank you! Hopefully I'll get water out of mine as im unsure how much antifreeze is in it and its been stood for a while with snow on it

    No worries. Lidl's are doing anti-freeze and screen wash testers for 99p each and halfrauds do them for £2ish.
    I think the haynes says my 1.8 is 5.5 litres. I put in 3.5 litres of the Vaux anti-freeze £4.11 per litre from the stealers.

    What should new VX anti freeze protect down to when new? Mine is reading -20 on the tester
