help car wont start!!

hi all just been trying to get my lad to school went out to defrost the car and it just wont kick in at all!! its -11 and ive been trying now but its like the battery is dead??? anybody have any ideas what i can do???

maybe battery is dead? can you get a jump start off someone?

or maybe starter motor stuck

apparently the AA hit it with a hammer! to unstick it.

are you getting any lights or sounds?

yes getting all the power but when i turn the key everything on the dash starts flashing etc

Sounds like battery you need to get a jump start mate

it is the battery don had mechanic come out to it who i know but the battery is only a couple of months old??

wouldnt that suggest you either bought a dud battery or your charging systems failing?..

Sounds like the voltage is being dragged down under load to me too

Just in case - make sure the battery terminals are tight. If slightly loose they will pass the current for lights etc but when starting will arc and make everything flash.

just a quick update i put a different battery in and its still the same just ticking when i try to start it and my fuel gauge says i have no fuel and the light is flashing when i know there was just over a quarter of a tank in and the range computer says i have 85 miles??? im seriously confused and hoping there is nothing seriously wrong with it!!
