Default Can someone clarify this egr blanking business...

Now at present i dont have any probs with the 1.9 but have heard these egr pumps are nothing but trouble and can be a main cause for swirl flap failure, if this is fact then it would make sense to get this valve fully capped off, but have heard the only way to get the ecu to realise theres no working egr valve present is to the regal plate mod with ecu remap to remove that part of the program, now it says on the site that the remap will make it go back to the future but thats not what i want and also heard bade things about pipes blowing off etc, i just dont want this swirl flap business to happen to me, i begrudge spending £400 odd to have this mod when all id like is just to remove the egr from the system, surely there must be a way of removing the software from the system that doesnt include a £400 remap, can anyone come up with any other ideas???

I've got a spare one you can have for £5 plus postage ?

I got two, one for the Zafira (fitted it in about 5 minutes) and one for my Astra J but it has a totally different inlet manifold , I could even see the swirl flaps, lol,

Let me know as its going on ebay over the W/End ?

Thanks for that mate, does your zaf now show up the emissions light, or did you source the fiat alternative with 4 drilled holes to allow small amount through just to keep sensor happy?

No EML and its the fiat part and still sealed up for the 150 engine, it has a rubber rim and 4 holes in it, think it cost me £6.50 from the local Fait dealer,
