    Default traction control in snow

tried to get to work at 5 this morning,8 miles later turned round back home ,the t/c control just killed the revs ,the light flashed on and off,and the car crept up a fairly steep hill at walking pace. is this how the t/c usually works
as i've not had t/c before
    thanks

Yes because revs is the last thing you want in snow but the t/c doesn't manage in snow very well. Best thing to do is turn the t/c off and control the wheel slip yourself.

This. I turn it off in mine on the snow. We got some last night so went out to see how the car did, it really can't understand snow properly. Turned it off and controlled it myself.

As already said TC is a waste of time in this weather, if you can turn it off then do so

Depends what model you have. Most pre facelifts you can buy the switch and it will turn it off. Mine works.

My T/C doesnt work so I'm o.k, I would rather it this way than not been able to turn it off. 2007 2.0t signum. 1st time I have ever been pleased that something is broken.

    i have a 55 plate facelift.

didn't even know it had t/c until last winter

started in 2nd to prevent wheelspin then going up hill tried to give some revs to gain a bit of speed, revs just died back the minute t/c kicked in as front wheels started to loose grip.

progress was very slow....but safe i guess

    ah well

I don't have a switch for it , so bearing this in mind, how easy is it to fit a switch to facelift? then i can turn it off as and when i need to get up a steep hill

you can first ck to see if you have a connector block behind the blank switch ...purchase a t/c switch from VX ...but it still might not work ...but will just light up when your lights are on ..

there have been mMASSIVE of threads about this ....some work some dont ..even with the block there .
